ABOUT ME

Hello, I am Chen Qifan, I am a Hedrick Math Fellow at UCLA, working with Prof. Hayden Schaeffer and Prof. Yifan Chen.

I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics from The Ohio State University in 2026, advised by Prof. Yulong Xing. During my Ph.D., I also collaborated closely with Prof. Dongbin Xiu on data-driven modeling of dynamical systems, particularly flow-map learning. I received my B.S. in Mathematics from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2021. You can find my biography here

My research focuses on numerical methods for partial differential equations and data-driven modeling of dynamical systems. I am particularly interested in high-order numerical methods for hyperbolic conservation laws, reduced-order modeling, and scientific machine learning for PDEs.
